What is Title I, Part A? The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) authorizes funds to local education agencies (LEA's) for the education of disadvantaged children. Title I, A provides supplementary resources and related services to low-achieving students and students attending elementary and secondary schools with a relatively high percentage of children from low-income families. All five of Anniston City's schools qualify for Title I funding.

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) established Title IV, Part A, and it supports student success by providing all students with access to a well-rounded education, improving school conditions for student learning (safe and healthy students), and improving the use of technology to enhance academic achievement and digital literacy for all students (section 4101).
